I’m Alex Warren, founder of Critical Risk Group.
With almost two decades in underground coal mining, spanning from trainee operator to senior operational and regulatory leadership roles, I bring a practical, integrated understanding of how critical risk and compliance requirements are applied and managed on site.
I work with mining companies across Australia to strengthen assurance frameworks, statutory competence, and critical control and risk management strategies that remain sustainable and effective over time.
Before establishing Critical Risk Group, I led the Risk and Compliance team at the NSW Resources Regulator, delivered fatal hazard and legal compliance audit programs across industry, and have overseen the statutory examination process for more than seven years — currently serving as Convenor of the Deputy Examination Panel and member of the Undermanager Panel.
I am also a Certified Practising Risk Manager through the Risk Management Institute of Australia, reflecting contemporary professional standards in risk management.
